Our Story
Abrecea Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy was founded by the Abrecea brothers Raymond & Ryan Abrecea in 2014, passionate and experienced practitioners of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. With more than 20 years of experience in the art, The Abrecea brothers have dedicated their life to sharing the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of Jiu Jitsu with others. Our academy is a reflection of this passion, and we are committed to helping our students achieve their full potential.

Our instructors are experienced and certified black belts who are dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. With years of experience in teaching and application on the mats, they have the knowledge and expertise to guide you every step of the way.
Our Facility
Our academy is located in 40 South Washington Ave. Bergenfield, NJ 07621 and features a state-of-the-art training facility with 1500 Sq. Ft. of training area. We take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all our students.

OUR PROGRAMS
KIDS BJJ (AGE 5 TO 13)
Kids – building confidence and body awareness.
The children and teens curriculum is designed around building coordination, body awareness, basic concepts and techniques in a fun and engaging manner. More advanced techniques are gradually introduced. Control and technique within a competition-approved structure is emphasized.
Classes are 60 minutes and structured around a fun warm-up, a lesson in technique, games for mobility and problem-solving, and partner practice.
ALL LEVEL BJJ (AGE 14 +)
Fundamentals – laying the foundation.
This program marks the beginning of your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training. Students will learn to focus on mobility, coordination, body awareness, basic concepts, and beginning techniques. More advanced techniques are gradually introduced. Drilling and live training are emphasized with a focus on positional control and technique.
Classes are 90 minutes and structured around a warm-up, lessons in technique, and partner training practice.
ALL LEVEL NO GI (AGE 14 +)
No Gi Fundamentals – laying the foundation.
This program marks the beginning of your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training. Students will learn to focus on mobility, coordination, body awareness, basic concepts, and beginning techniques. More advanced techniques are gradually introduced. Drilling and live training are emphasized with a focus on positional control and technique.
Classes are 90 minutes and structured around a warm-up, lessons in technique, and partner training practice.
BJJ PRIVATE SESSION
1 on 1 session with a Certified BJJ Black Belt instructor.
Sessions are 60 minutes and structured around a warm-up, lessons in technique, and light partner training practice.
PERSONAL TRAINING
1 on 1 session with a certified personal trainer.
Training can consist of body conditioning and strengthening using proper techniques and movements.
